Smart-lite™ Fitting Instructions

Smart-lite™ Fitting Instructions
This assembly can be replaced without removing the pilot burner.

Removal
1 Turn off the gas and electrical supply to your appliance. Look carefully at how the igniter fits into the burner, as the new one will go in the same way.

2 Use one hand to hold the bottom of the igniter, then remove the spring clip by pulling it away from the burner with the other hand. Take the igniter out of the pilot burner.

3 Unplug the leadwires from the control module and discard old igniter assembly and spring clip.

Refitting
4 Checking that the smart-lite™ igniter assembly is the right way round in the keyed slot, insert it into the pilot burner until it is flush with the pilot burner bracket. Using the new spring clip provided, secure them together ensuring that the spring clip is fully over both pilot burner and smart-lite™ igniter assembly.

5 Plug the leadwires into the control module.

Commissioning
1 Turn on the gas and electrical supply to the appliance.

2 Set the thermostat to maximum.

3 When ignition sequence begins, check that the igniter glows red and the pilot lights.

4 The igniter should stop glowing when the pilot is lit.

5 Main burner lights.

6 Refit cover and make tidy.

7 Place the smart-lite™ upgrade label on the front of the appliance, write the date installed and your contact details.

8 Turn the thermostat to normal setting.

If the ignition sequence is not as described in these instructions, refer to the Service Section of the SmartValve™ system Control Instructions for troubleshooting procedures.
